I am lucky enough to have a local game store. The folks at PhoenixFire Games here in Meridian are around to feed by addiction to tabletop games.

My hobbies include reading, tabletop, and video gaming.

I read a lot usually over 200 books in a year. I usually read Fantasy. The past couple of years I have been on a big time Urban Fantasy kick. It started when I read Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden books and then Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series. I have been all consumed with Urban Fantasy ever since. Some of my favorite authors, besides the above-mentioned, are Kat Richardson, Cherie Priest and Patrick Rothfuss (he writes high fantasy not urban fantasy).

Tabletop Games

Contemporary tabletop gaming has far outstripped what was available in the past. Games like Risk, Monopoly and Candyland have been replaced by games like Small World, Ascension and Munchkin. In the last 5 years I have whole heartedly embraced tabletop gaming. If you are lucky enough to have a local game store in your area I highly recommend going in and talking to the proprietor. Games today are designed to ignite your imagination and keep you coming back for more.

My collection on boardgamegeek.com has a small sampling of the games I own. (link will open in a new window)

Video Games

Since the Atari 7800 I have been a pretty big video gamer. I mostly gravitate towards role-playing and adventure games. This past year I have Played a lot of Sid Meier's Civilization V. Currently I am playing a lot of Minecraft with my husband. I am mostly a PC gamer, however we do own a Sony Playstation 3 and a Nintendo Wii.

I can be found on steam here. (link will open in a new window)
